Fitness

We are not only passionate about rehabilitation, but also that hydrotherapy and physiotherapy can improve quality of life for all dogs, benefiting all ages, from puppies to elderly dogs. We do need to have a veterinary consent form for all fitness sessions, the referral process is the same as our rehabilitation sessions.

Hydrotherapy is a great form of exercise to improve cardiovascular fitness and muscle condition for energetic, working and sporting dogs.

Does your dog love to swim? Bringing your dog to us for fitness sessions means you know your dog is enjoying their time in the water in a safe and controlled environment.

Physiotherapy can support your sporting and working dogs, optimising performance and injury prevention.

Puppies:

Hydrotherapy is a great way for your puppy to exercise while their bones are growing, the low impact environment of the pool allows them to work off physical and mental energy safely. Hydrotherapy is good for a puppy’s mental and social development as well as helping to build their confidence!

We offer a puppy course of 5 sessions for £160. These sessions focus on building your pup’s confidence around us and the centre, we go at their pace to make it all a positive experience for them. Your pup may not swim during the first session, there is a lot for them to take in during their time with us, being handled by new people, new smells and sounds to explore and getting used to wearing a buoyancy jacket. We will slowly introduce the water to them, and what session they start swimming will depend on how confident they are with the process.

Being a good weight has many health benefits for our canine companions, but it can be difficult to maintain. Hydrotherapy can be an additional form of exercise to help kickstart weight loss for your dog, or to assist in maintaining a healthy weight.

Additional weight will put strain on your dog’s joints, and keeping them lean will help to improve their mobility.

We have large veterinary scales in our treatment room and will weigh your dog on their first session and monitor this during their time with us.
